The work
The Union of Dreamers begins from the idea that political movements cannot build a future through opposition alone: they also need a shared image of what they want to create.
Instead of delegating that image to leaders or intellectuals, the project proposes meetings in which people speak about their own dreams. There are no teachers and no correct scale of ambition: a dream about an apartment or a salary can sit beside a proposal for a different social order. The conversations are recorded anonymously and can later be aggregated and studied as collective material.
The project treats dreaming as a form of political agency. Individual desires are not presented as ready-made programs, but as raw material from which a common language for another world might emerge.
The Union of Dreamers asks whether a collective future can be assembled without first deciding whose imagination is authorized to define it.
The festival
Emigration to the Future was an interdisciplinary festival that took place in Berlin-Wedding, 7–9 August 2026, bringing together artists, performers and researchers from seven countries working across performance, installation, video, sound and public intervention. Curated by Vsevolod Lisovsky and Anton Polski (MAKE / Citizen Make), across venues including exBrache, Chto Delat and public space around Wedding.
