Interdisciplinary Festival of Utopias
7–9 August, Berlin
Curated by Anton Polski & Vsevolod Lisovski
The absence of a clear vision for the future makes it impossible to work in the present. Therefore, the festival's mission is to conceive positive versions of the future and project them onto the physical city of Berlin.
The future is extraterritorial. It offers the possibility of establishing a bridgehead from which to "attack" the present. Attacking the future from the present is far less effective than the other way around. This approach potentially addresses decolonial issues and many other contemporary struggles. Although the project was initiated by migrants, we do not wish to focus exclusively on migrant audiences or authors. The beauty of the future is that “there is neither Jew nor Greek,” no professional or amateur.
We host over 50 performative, visual, literary, musical, cinematic, and other projects that engage with urban and social contexts.
The festival is crowdfunded and organized by enthusiasts on a volunteer basis.
