Explication
The project uses spatial montage instead of conventional cinematic editing. A frame is both a real place encountered in the present and its speculative continuation produced by a video generator. Moving through Berlin becomes a movement between two versions of the city — the one that can be entered with the body and the one that currently exists only as an image.
The familiar story of children lost in the forest is transferred into an urban landscape where orientation depends on constantly negotiating between the present and an uncertain future.
About the festival
Emigration to the Future was an interdisciplinary festival that took place in Berlin-Wedding, 7–9 August 2026, bringing together artists, performers and researchers from seven countries working across performance, installation, video, sound and public intervention. Curated by Vsevolod Lisovsky and Anton Polski (MAKE / Citizen Make), across venues including exBrache, Chto Delat and public space around Wedding.
