The work
Architecture of Touch is an interactive performance and wearable installation in which clothing can no longer be fully activated by one body alone.
Dresses, tops, vests, scarves and extended textile elements are designed to unfold through contact: an embrace, a shared movement, a piece of fabric connecting two people, or a temporary moment of bodily closeness. Participants wear the objects and complete their form together.
Clothing therefore stops functioning as an individual shell and becomes a soft architecture produced between bodies. The work shifts dress away from status, protection and self-presentation toward another function: an interface for trust, coincidence and temporary connection.
Set in a semi-public space, Architecture of Touch allows these structures to appear and disappear as people meet and separate. No garment has a final form of its own; the work exists only for as long as several bodies agree to hold it together.
The festival
Emigration to the Future was an interdisciplinary festival that took place in Berlin-Wedding, 7–9 August 2026, bringing together artists, performers and researchers from seven countries working across performance, installation, video, sound and public intervention. Curated by Vsevolod Lisovsky and Anton Polski (MAKE / Citizen Make), across venues including exBrache, Chto Delat and public space around Wedding.
